My Reflection (humor)

My Reflection

I asked myself,
"Who is that man looking so drab?"
A gray haired fellow,
getting a little bald?
That is impossible!
it's me!
The mirror on the wall
not telling no lie.
"You sir, are not the fairest of them all!"

“Look at you” the mirror seemed to say,
"You have a double chin
underneath that goofy grin,
and where you used to be thin
 flab is moving in!
You have bags under your eyes big enough
you could store nuts from under a tree!”

I counseled with myself,
"Beauty is only skin deep!"
My reflection reminded me
"Ugly is to the bone!"
So I simply closed my eyes
while I brushed my teeth!

I opened my eyes
and I looked at me,
“You’re not so bad for a man
almost fifty-three!”
My reflection looked at me
and said, “I agree!”

If Jesus Can Say to...Then He Can Speak to You!

IF JESUS CAN SAY TO…THEN HE CAN SPEAK TO YOU!

If God can, ‘part the Red sea!’
If God can, ‘cause water to flow out of a rock!’
If God can, ‘move on a Raven to feed a prophet!’
If God can, ‘put meal in a widows barrel!’
If God can, ‘turn bitter waters sweet!’
If God can, ‘Make a Sun dial go backwards!’
If God can, ‘tell the Sun to be still!’

If Jesus can say, “Take up thy bed and walk” and the lame leap for joy!
If Jesus can say “Peace be still!” to a raging storm, and the winds obey Him!
If Jesus can say, “Go wash in the pool Siloam.” and the blind came seeing!
If Jesus can say, “Let down your nests for a draught!” and filled two boats!
If Jesus can say to a woman caught in adultery, “Neither do I condemn thee.”
If Jesus can say to Lazarus after four days dead, “Come forth!” And He came out of the grave!

Then, ‘God can’, do whatever He needs to do,
Say whatever He needs to say,
To see to it that you make it through!
He can speak to you and your need and change your situation!

Need A miracle?
Need forgiveness?
Need A resurrection of faith?
Need Hope?
Need Healing?
Need Happiness?
Need Peace?

Heb 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
He is not the ‘Great I was’, He is the, “Great I Am!”
Not the God that did, He is the , God that does!
Not the God that could, He is the, God that can!
Not the God that would, He is the’ God that will!
He is the mighty God, not the God that might!
God can, turn your mess into a message!
Turn your  mistake into a miracle!
Turn your test into a testimony!

1Sa 3:9 “… Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth…”

Call Him!

Jer 33:3  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

This scripture brings with it both, hope and a promise. However, before the promise can be fulfilled, and before hope can be received, we must, 'Call unto Him!' God said, "If you call, I will answer." God will not ignore those that call upon Him. I do believe God has caller I.D. He knows who we are and He knows what
we need. He is just waiting on a call!
God's promise, "I will show you great and mighty things!"
For those who call upon the Lord, the Lord brings to them revelation and understanding; miracles both of body and soul. Things that we never imagined would come to us. Blessings of health, blessings of prosperity, blessings of peace and contentment.  It is up to us to make the call. "Do you have His number?"

The Black Granite Wall

The Black Granite Wall

I stand in solemn awe,
staring at names
Etched into this polished black
Granite wall.

Too many names
can not read them all,
Nor can I contain myself
Tears begin to fall.

These men and women
Who left husband, wife, children alone
To give their lives in a combat zone.

I stand in solemn awe,
My reflection’s on this black granite wall.
A free man’s staring back at me.
Because fifty-eight thousand two-hundred and seventy-two names
Immortalized on this black granite wall

We Say That We Love

We Say That We Love

by Rick Joe Musick on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:15pm

We say that we love, but what is love?
Real love came from Christ above.

We say that we love, but does your neighbor know it?
What good is our love if we do not show it?

We say that we care, but do we find it hard to share?
Isn't caring sharing, and bearing another's load?

We say that we love, but what is love?
Love is not simply words alone,
Love is not love unless shown.

True love came from Heaven above,
True love came and eased our pain.
True love came and took our shame!
True love was made manifest on Calvary.

Jesus loved the loveless,
Gave hope to the hopeless,
Washed us in His blood to make us sinless!
That is love!

Our prayer should be:
Lord, Help me to love as you have loved me.
care as you have cared,
Bare as you bared,
To do as you have done!
That would be love

Jesus Came to My House One Day

Jesus Came to My House One Day (Evg. Rick J. Musick 3-17-11)

I had a dream the other night,
The dream gave me great insight.
It woke me up, I had to pray.

In the dream Jesus came to my house one day,
I was to ashamed to ask Him to stay.
The place was a mess- trash all around.

When Jesus walked in, it was the look on His face,
I felt ashamed - in total disgrace,
My house should be a holy place.

I know Jesus saw the books on the shelf,
I swallowed hard when He saw the movies too.
Why did I buy that magazine?

Jesus looked at me with sadness in His eyes,
He stared at me as if wondering why?
Why would I need such carnal, worldly things?

He walked towards the door,
I opened it fast!
Jesus was leaving my house at last.

Before He walked out,
He turned and said:
“None of those things will bring joy that last.”

“One more thing before I go,
You once knew me through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Now tell me, who do you love the most?”

I shut the door,
My knees hit the floor,
I cried, “Please Jesus come back through my door!”

I lifted my hands,
I worshiped the Lord,
I felt my spirit begin to soar!

I prayed through,
To victory anew,
I knew then what I must do.

I grabbed a trash can
then I began,
I refuse to live like a backslidden man!

I cleaned up my house that day,
Jesus knocked on my door,
I invited Him in this time, to stay!

God Can Hear Your Teardrops Fall

God Can Hear Your Teardrops Fall

It was one of my times in life,
When nothing seemed to be going right.
My heart was filled with heartache and strife.
I had spent some days in a cloud of despair,
Wondering why life seemed so unfair.

I stared into the emptiness,
of a dark lonely room.
Tears began to fall.

That is when His sweet Holy Spirit came,
He spoke to me, as if I heard my name.
Not a thunderous roar, nothing shook the floor.
More like a whisper,
soft, deliberate, and slow.
He said to me,
in my heart ‘I know’
“I can hear your tear drops fall.”

A God that close!
The Lord of host!
Would get that close to me?
So close He can hear my tear drops fall?

Then the tears really came,
I let them fall upon the ground
Freely giving Him my all,

my burdens, my strife,
All the hurt that was in my life.

Tears of sorrow changed in me,
to tears of thankfulness.
To know my savior understands,
To thank Him for His faithfulness.

So when life is tough,
And you’re in a season of dreadful doubt.
When sorrow seems to break about
Remember this as you sit alone.
The ‘Great I Am’ upon His throne,
Will bend an ear towards you!
Casting all your cares on Him,
Let your burdens fall,
Let those tears change in you,
For God can hear your teardrops too!
