In the Sanctuary

In the sanctuary of the ‘Great I Am’
I feel God’s holy presence.
I came to worship,
at the feet of the lamb.

Once a sinner so far away,
I could not see what good things
God had planned for me.

Once so deep in sin,
I was so lost
so empty within.
I had no idea new life could begin.

But then in the sanctuary,
of the Great I Am,
The hands of grace softly touched me,
Mercy led me gently to my knees.

Forgiven of my sins,
His Holy Spirit came in.
Now here I stand in the sanctuary,
of the, ‘Great I Am.'

That's What Mercy Does

That’s What Mercy Does

Caught in the act of adultery,
Morally dirty and ashamed.

Dragged to the court by her persecutors,
Her heart was filled with fright.

Hot tears began to streak her cheeks,
As angry shouts filled the streets.

Guilty as charged - condemned to die,
Judgment was coming so swift.

Men gathered stones, soon to be thrown
At the trash that knelt on her knees.

Then Jesus walked up and judgment asked him,
In a pious and self righteous way.

Moses said, “She is to be stoned,
What Jesus, do you have to say?”

Jesus ignored them,
And simply wrote in the sand.

Then this is what Jesus said,
“If you have no sin, then you may begin.”

No one had anything to say,
It was not long until they were gone.

Then Jesus asked, as he lifted her head,
“Where are those that condemn thee?”

“There are none Lord,
They have all gone away.”

“Neither do I, go and sin no more,”
That is what mercy does.
